New Success Story: InsBIOration
In the project InsBIOration, experts from Germany, France, Romania, Finland, and Slovenia joined forces to further advance the research on functional and adhesive coatings of polydopamine (PDA), tannic acid (TA) and analogues and transfer the results into industrial applications.
They developed new PDA analogues and sophisticated analytical techniques tailored for the sensitive analysis of ultrathin films and gained essential new knowledge on the film formation and properties of these substances. On this basis, reliable, upscalable technologies for the tailored deposition of these films have been identified. As final outcome, upscalable prototypes of PDA- and TA-based antipathogenic coatings, biodegradable batteries and supercapacitors were presented.
